Ambas caras llevan orla negra.Notificación de la muerte de Ludwig Steghafner, del regimiento de paracaidistas, fallecido en África el 6 de noviembre de 1942, a los 22 años heroicamente. Bajo la fotografía del fallecido llevando una túnica africana, aparece la cita: "Lo que él fue para nosotros, permanecerá eternamente".
